Dungog Reconciliation Group…
was formed in 2018 following a public screening of Warwick Thornton's film “We Don't Need a Map”.
Through the gentle steering of Helen Rubeli, a group of about fifteen workshopped their aspirations to advance the ideas around Reconciliation, both in our local area and the wider world. This extended to self-education in the areas of indigenous culture and knowledge, history and protocols, with a view to basing our actions in respect and sensitivity. This year's Reconciliation Week events in Dungog were in part initiated and supported by the group in the interests of furthering these aspirations.
