Murrurundi Art Excursion
October long weekend sees the inaugural Spring Market, held at established Art Gallery, Michael Reid Murrurundi. The gallery is situated in the beautiful grounds of historic Bobadil House, which is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Murrurundi.
The Bobadil House Market will be held behind the gallery in the Bobadil House Horse Paddock, featuring a curated group of stallholders offering quality, handmade, regional goods and fresh produce.
6:45 Meet at Dungog Contemporary
7:00 Depart with breakfast snacks en route
8:30 Morning stop at Muswellbrook, dropping into Hunter Belle Cheese Cafe, complimentary tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
10:00 Arrival at Michael Reid, Murrurundi, for our special guest tour of top Australian gallerist Michael Reid’s Murrurundi Gallery. Artist Ben Tankard, will give an artist talk and tour of his exhibition ‘A Room with a View’.
11:30 Walk around the grounds and markets
12:45 Meet at the Dungog Contemporary picnic area for ‘The Plains Pantry’ of Willow Tree packed picnic lunch.
Including: The Plains Pantry Signature ‘Green Juice’ Choice of Colly Creek Beef Casserole with Sourdough Roll or Pearl Couscous Salad with halloumi + minted yoghurt and a brownie bite treat. Throughout the day, there will be demonstrations and workshops along with live entertainment to enjoy.
After lunch, browse around the stalls at Bobadil House Spring Market. There are lots of interesting and creative things to see and buy.
3:00 Meet back at the bus and head to David Darcy Gallery, Murrurundi, and a short talk from David about his obsession with country pooches.
4:00 Begin our journey home
5:40 Evening break in Singleton
7:00 Arrive back at Dungog Contemporary
