Luciana Smith is a Sydney-based artist who graduated from UNSW Art & Design in 2015. Drawing from her own observations and a range of references from the internet and art history, Luciana twists her subjects into a world that exists somewhere between reality and the imagined. Luciana’s work is a collection of strange, anonymous portraits of people and mundane places. The paintings read like snapshots, finding stories in the suburbs and shops around the artists studio, capturing people, places, familiar objects and animals in fleeting moments with an off beat sense of humour.
