Stephen Hobbs is a Dungog based photographer who has worked in both fine and commercial arts for over twenty five years. Attending the National Art School where he studied painting and photography, he later went on to work as assistant to famous fashion photographer David Mist at Studio 10 in Sydney before a move to London and a career in fine arts / antiques as a document photographer.
Hobbs has recently moved to Dungog to open Dungog Contemporary with his partner Sarah Crawford. Embarking upon a new series of large scale abstract photographic works documenting aspects of both the natural and built environment which are important to him.
With Dungog Contemporary, Hobbs and Crawford wish to bring cutting edge contemporary art to the beautiful setting of rural Dungog.
